He has earned an M.A. from Dallas Theological Seminary and both a Th.M and Ph.D from Southern Seminary in Louisville. His research interests include family discipleship and cultural apologetics. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Ouachita Baptist University and John Brown University and teaches high school theology and apologetics courses at a local homeschool co-op.

When not at work or home, you can find him coaching his daughters' basketball teams, cheering on the Chiefs and Royals, working in the yard, or taking a road trip. The Hintons have been involved in Stoa for the past five seasons and have one competitor in the senior division and three in the junior division.

1. Kimberly Farley:

I am blessed to be Matthew’s wife and mom to Noah, Maddie, and Braeden. We began homeschooling in 2011 when the kids were in 6th, 4th, and 2nd grades. We finished our home education journey in 2022 with the graduation of our youngest. In 2014, we joined Stoa when we moved to the suburbs of Nashville, TN and found a local club, Ambassadors for Christ. At the first tournament we attended, Matthew and I added a year of debate to our family’s graduation requirements; the debaters there were so impressive! We knew we wanted to develop those skills in our kids. Thankfully, all of ours caught the vision (and fun) of debate and did more than was required. At that time, I had no idea how enormous Stoa’s impact would be in our lives.

After four years of being a parent and volunteer in our local club and going to many tournaments, I felt called to start a new club in the area closer to where we live. With the blessing of our original club’s leadership, we began a new club, Impact Speech and Debate. I have served as director and coach there since 2018. It is my great joy to share with others what we learned, continue learning with more families, and walk alongside them in their journey to impact the world for Christ.

I have served in numerous tournament jobs throughout my years in Stoa. Most often, you will find me in tab or ballot push. I love both of those jobs and have done one or the other at NITOC since 2017. For the last two and a half years, I have served on the Training and Development Committee for Stoa and am completing my two-year tenure as chair this summer. I have learned much about the need for resources, the difficulty in providing those, and the joy of sharing information with parents and leaders as they seek to serve their local communities.

As our children began graduating, I returned to work and found a position with Classic Learning Test. What began as a part-time job developed into a full-time position as the company grew. I am currently the Director of Homeschool Partnerships at CLT. When I’m not working at CLT or volunteering with Stoa or my local club, I can be found listening to audiobooks and podcasts and taking entirely too many pictures of our cats, Winston and Clementine. With a newly empty nest, Matthew and I have started attending the theater regularly and exploring new restaurants around Nashville on our date nights. When the kids are home, playing board games, particularly strategy games, is our favorite activity.

I am humbled and excited to be nominated for the Stoa Board of Directors. This organization has given my family so much over the last nine years. I believe what Stoa provides is not only important on an individual level; I believe that what we train students to do will shape their world in the years to come. I would be honored to continue serving Stoa and equipping students to change the world for Christ.
